Who We Are
1. The Bespoke Commitment
This document is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000. By accessing www.woodenitbenice.com, you agree to these Terms of Use. Wooden-it-be-nice (the “Company”) specializes in high-end, bespoke furniture incorporating solid wood, precision metalwork (Stainless Steel and Brass), and luxury upholstery.
2. Material Characteristics & Natural Variations
Because we work with authentic, premium materials, the Buyer acknowledges the following:
Solid Wood: Variations in grain, color, and texture are natural characteristics of timber. Minor movements (expanding or contracting) due to changes in humidity are normal for solid wood products.
Metalwork (Brass & Stainless Steel): * Brass: Unless lacquered, brass will undergo a natural oxidation process (patina) over time. This is a prized characteristic of the metal and not a defect.
Stainless Steel: While highly durable, polished or brushed finishes may develop “hairline” scratches through normal use.
Upholstery & Fabrics: * Dye Lots: We cannot guarantee an exact color match between fabric samples and the final upholstered piece due to variations in manufacturer dye lots.
Natural Fibers: Fabrics like linen, silk, or top-grain leathers may have natural slubs, scars, or texture shifts that signify authenticity.
3. Custom Orders & Design Finalization
Production Kick-off: Production begins only upon receipt of a [e.g., 50%] non-refundable deposit and written sign-off on the “Final Build Specification” (which includes dimensions, material selection, and finish choice).
Client-Supplied Material (COM/COL): If the Buyer provides their own fabric or leather, the Company is not responsible for the durability, performance, or flaws within that material.
4. Payments terms
Full payment must be settled prior to dispatch.
The Company reserves the right to adjust quotes if the Buyer requests changes to the metal grade (e.g., switching from Stainless Steel to PVD-coated Brass) or upholstery grade after the initial quote.
5. Care & Maintenance
Wooden-it-be-nice provides a “Care Guide” with every purchase. The Company is not liable for damage caused by:
The use of abrasive cleaners on polished metal or finished wood.
Placing furniture in direct sunlight (causing fabric fade or wood “checking”).
Spills or chemical reactions on unsealed brass surfaces.
6. Delivery, Access & Installation
The “Fit” Guarantee: For bespoke items, the Buyer is solely responsible for ensuring the furniture can be navigated through the property’s access points (elevators, stairwells, doorways).
White-Glove Service: Our delivery includes basic assembly and placement. However, any structural modifications to the property required for installation are the responsibility of the Buyer.
7. Cancellations & Returns Policy
Bespoke & Made-to-Order: Items involving custom woodwork, specific metal finishes, or selected upholstery are strictly non-returnable and non-refundable once production has commenced.
Defects: In the rare event of a structural manufacturing defect, the Company must be notified within 4 hours of delivery. We reserve the right to repair the item to our luxury standards before offering a replacement.
8. Intellectual Property
All proprietary designs, including the fusion of metal and wood elements unique to Wooden-it-be-nice, are protected by copyright. Reproduction of our designs is strictly prohibited.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be settled exclusively in the courts of [Your City/State].
Care & Maintenance Guide:
1. Natural Timber (Wood Elements)
Our solid wood is finished with premium oils or lacquers to protect the grain.
Environmental Stability: Wood is a living material. Avoid placing furniture in extreme heat (near radiators) or direct, harsh sunlight, which can cause the wood to “check” (fine cracking) or change color unevenly.
Routine Care: Dust regularly with a dry, soft microfiber cloth. Avoid commercial furniture polishes, which can leave a greasy buildup.
Spills: Wipe liquid spills immediately with a soft, damp cloth, then buff dry. Never leave water standing on wooden surfaces.
2. Metal Finishes (Brass & Stainless Steel)
Solid Brass: Our brass is often left in its “living” state. It will develop a rich patina—a natural oxidation that marks the passage of time.
Daily Care: Wipe with a dry cloth.
To Restore Shine: If you prefer a brighter look, use a high-quality metal polish specifically formulated for brass. Note: Polish only the metal; avoid contact with surrounding wood or upholstery.
Stainless Steel: Clean with a soft cloth dampened with a mild glass cleaner or a specialized stainless steel cleaner. Always wipe with the grain to avoid fine surface scratches. Avoid abrasive scouring pads.
3. Upholstery & Fabrics
General Care: Vacuum upholstered surfaces weekly using an upholstery attachment to remove dust and crumbs that can wear down fabric fibers over time.
Spills & Stains: Blot—do not rub—stills immediately with a clean, white, absorbent cloth. Rubbing pushes the stain deeper into the weave.
Professional Help: For deep stains or routine seasonal cleaning, we recommend professional furniture cleaning services. Attempting to spot-clean with harsh household detergents can damage the fabric’s integrity and void the warranty.
4. Leather Considerations
Leather is a natural product that thrives with conditioning. Keep it away from intense heat sources.
Should a spill occur, wipe with a damp (not soaking) cloth. For long-term care, use a high-quality leather conditioner every 6–12 months to prevent drying or cracking.
